Sixth Grave on the Edge - Review

May 21, 14  ·  edit

First, let me get this out of the way - I love all of these characters. Describing all of them would take entirely too long, but there is just something about the way they all think, act and interact that makes me smile.
I got Sixth Grave yesterday and tried so hard to pace myself; after all, the next one doesn't come out until October. I tried, and failed. Each situation that Charley found herself in, or each piece of new information just made it impossible for me to stop reading. I found myself constantly texting my friends or posting online, telling them to hurry up and read it with me! I was yelling at the characters (I think I scared my poor husband) and scrounging for a notebook and pen to record favorite or especially profound quotes. I even had to stop at one point because it had become so intense that I couldn't breathe.
I don't tend to summarize or say too much about a story when I review. I personally don't like it when too much is given away, even unintentionally, and I'm always afraid to do the same. So let me just end this with a call to action: If you haven't read any of Darynda Jones's Charley Davidson series, start now!! Lucky you, you have six to go before you are waiting like me for October. For those who are holding off on Sixth Grave, do yourselves a favor and just read it. Immediately!
